Bruce waited for a beat longer, wanting nothing more than to just sweep into the room and take his son into his arms.
Tim was breathing. Another drop of water fell to the basin. Shoe scuffed against tile but even that sound had been small as though Tim had simply readjusted his weight instead of come away from the sink outright.
“Tim? Do you need me to come in?”
The difference was subtle; a like or a need. Of course Tim would not want Bruce to come into the bathroom, he was a teenager who deserved privacy and respect.
“I don’t… I don’t know?”
