I think reading this after finishing GtN was somewhat of a bespoke experience for me. I had already dabbled before, but this basically kickstarted my love of reading and writing darkfic. The process of reading it also gave me truckloads of bottom dysphoria and residual psychic damage reminiscent of past traumatic experiences. This fic had captured me so much that many months down the line, I would go on to write 'Fractured Porcelain' (my first microfiction, which was also heavily inspired by the then mostly dead 'Empty Spaces' microfiction scene on Twitter). That story bore many traces of the impact this one left on me. Couldn't recommend this enough.
