An ablation study aims to determine the contribution of a component to an AI system by removing the component, and then analyzing the resultant performance of the system.
Deleting Caine was not the plan. And his absence led to a whole set of new problems, ranging from the destabilization of the Amazing Digital Circus to a more murderous AI trying to take control of the mainframe. Retrieving him was a matter of practicality. They might not trust him and were definitely wary of him, but his presence was their only way to survive.
Knowing that the humans that you love and desperately want to make happy instead fear and hate you (for admittedly good reasons) and only brought you back because they have no choice was not the best feeling for an AI never designed to handle emotions in the first place. It would be much better to only keep the parts that they need and discard the rest.

A recursive algorithm is an algorithm that processes its own output. In this story set after the events of Amphoreus, Mydei has found Planarcadia’s As I’ve Written fanfic site. He has a few questions, specifically, why are all the fics about me and Phainon all porn? A new challenge: who can read more of these fics without breaking? One thing leads to another, manifesting more porn in the cosmos.
With the help of Madam Herta and a few guests (Screwllum/Herta is a minor ship, as is Cipher/Phainon but not the main focus, other characters cameo), this fanfic will also continue to process its own output, recursively. Each chapter is somewhat different from the last. After all calculations are complete, a Romantic ending.

This is my HC au where at the end the gang will bring Caine back and separate him from the circus (making both of them more stable) so the circus runs on itself without a ringmaser and Caine is just like any other player with the same limitations and abilities. He could finally learn to understand humans via literally living among them, and the players would finally see him as a person he is. Win-win. Sure, adjusting would not be... as smooth as a snap of a finger but they are all willing to learn, connect and live in harmony as a group.
