Summary
Robin likes coming to Baratie. The food is stellar, the coffee refills are free, and the atmosphere is mostly calm enough to study in peace, aside from the occasional fight breaking out with almost enough regularity to manage a Pomodoro session. She stumbled on the diner towards the end of her first semester at Ohara, and she's become enough of a regular in the year since to know all the waiters by name and for the cooks to have memorized her usual order.

“Am I that about what he eats?” Robin asks, unable to help herself. “Souls, right?”
“Or whatever bits of them people put into things here on earth,” Zeff confirms. “I don’t want to think about what that means for heaven.”
Robin hums thoughtfully. “I wonder how long they can make a full soul last. Sanji seems to be getting by just from whatever he’s getting from my research, and I assume from your cooking. Heaven must be an all-you-can-eat buffet.”
“Again,” Zeff says, “I’m trying not to think about it. Got more pressing matters, anyways. You’re right; I don’t know how long we can keep it quiet that the kid’s here. I’ve got space, but we’re, uh, screwed if someone starts asking the wrong kinds of questions.’
Robin tries to hide her snicker behind the rim of her mug. “You can say ‘fuck’ in front of me, you know.”
“Absolutely not,” Zeff says flatly. “I’ve still got some standards.”
Robin sets her mug down and clears her throat. “I don’t know terribly much about angels,” she admits. “Though I’ve started to look into them more since I realized what Sanji is. I’d be happy to pass on any useful information I find. Ohara’s library is incredible.”
“I’d appreciate it,” Zeff says, quiet and strained. “We’ve been trying to find out what we can, but… well. I don’t want to ask too many questions and get the wrong sort sniffing around here. Kid’s not any more dangerous than your average ankle biter. Don’t want to bring any hunters down on his ass.”
“I can keep a secret,” Robin assures him. “That’s actually part of why I brought it up. I might not know much about angels and demons—yet, at least—but as far as helping Sanji blend in a little, I know someone who might be able to help.”
Zeff narrows his eyes. “Help how?”
“Without giving away too much information,”

Robin pats his shoulder and turns to walk quickly down the sidewalk, Franky trotting at her side. The sign on Baratie’s door is flipped to closed, but when she knocks on the plate glass, she sees Sanji hurrying across the diner to open it for her.“Hi, Miss Robin!” he says. “Hi, Miss Robin’s friend!”
“Hey, little dude,” Franky says, offering a fist to bump. “Franky. Nice to meet you.”
Sanji looks unsurely from Franky’s fist to Robin. She bites back a smile and mimes bumping her own fists together, and Sanji curls his fingers and gingerly taps his knuckles against Franky’s. Franky grins.
“Sick. Where's your old man?”
“My what?” Sanji asks, looking baffled.
“He means Zeff,” Robin explains. “He's supposed to be meeting us tonight.”
“He's upstairs,” Sanji says. “He'll be down in a minute. He said you were coming and to give you some muffins, do you want them?”
“I would love a muffin,” Robin says. “Franky?”
“Sounds delicious,” he says. “Robin talks about this place a lot. Can't wait to try it.”
“It's all great,” Sanji assures them, ushering them inside and locking the door behind them. “They're really good cooks, and they love doing it. Here, you can sit at the counter.”
