Summary
“Grace staring at Simon again, statement,” Rocky, very unhelpfully, broke his train of thought. Grace sputtered, shaking his head.
“I’m not staring, Rocky! I was just – spacing out,” Simon worried his lip, looking back down at his research. Glancing back up to see if Simon had overheard. If he had, that didn’t stop him from continuing his own work; Simon had become obsessed with the mechanics of the ship, fixing everything he could. Which was great, considering Grace was a man of science himself. Hardly knew how to change his tires, really. Simon paused, scratching at the gills on the side of his neck. He had been doing that every few minutes, grimacing.
“Simon, are your gills bothering you?” Grace couldn’t help himself.
“So you were staring then, angel?” Simon huffed, not taking his eyes away from what he was working on.

Summary
"Problem, question?"
"I've been getting tiny fluctuations from one of the external sensors." Ryland tapped the screen. "They're inconsistent. Too organized to be random interference, too weak to be a system malfunction."
"Life?" Rocky tried to look at the screen with his viewing gun.
Ryland laughed, gently nudging Rocky closer so he could see it more clearly.
"I mean... statistically? No."
Rocky tilted his head in confusion.
"Grace says 'statistically no.' Grace usually discovers statistically yes."
"...Okay, that's a little unfair." Ryland looked down at the rock.
"It is accurate."
Ryland couldn't even argue. The scanner chirped, Ryland’s smile faded just slightly.
"...That's odd."
Rocky immediately noticed the change.
"Explain."
Ryland frowned at the display.
"The signal's back."
"Signal, Question?"
"It disappeared three hours ago." He adjusted a dial.
"It isn't electromagnetic. It isn't radiation. It isn't cosmic background noise..."
Rocky waited patiently while Ryland's thoughts raced ahead of his words.
"...It's moving."Bookmarked by CMPPizza

Summary
As a doctor, Grace is very familiar with biology. There are some fascinating species out there, including his own. Humans have some very interesting habits. Habits that are totally normal, absolutely reasonable and definitely okay to do.
Like masturbation, for instance.
Grace groans, the sound muffled against the fabric of the shirt he has pressed to his nose. On his next inhale, his sinuses are flooded with the scent of sweat and musk and Simon, and… yeah, maybe this wasn’t totally normal.

A comic re-posted from my Tumblr
There's no reason Simon would wake up on the Hail Mary and act rationally after dying in a blood ocean.
So, he doesn't
Good luck to Grace and Rocky
