Summary
Reimu misses her mother dearly, her memories of her mother long faded with the passage of time, and only stories that others had shared of her to go off of. (she fondly remembers the times Yukari would tell her stories while brushing her hair)
But still she continues on with life aware of the fact her mother loved her dearly before her death, being the best shrine maiden she can be.
Sure it's not easy especially in a place like Genskoyo, but she makes do even with all the nonsense that goes on.
One day she meets people from her mother's past and has to deal with the fact maybe just maybe there was more to her mother than she thought.

So she makes a different choice and her whole life takes a whole new direction.
She doesn't regret it in the slightest.
Also featuring Eda and Raine adopting Luz, various misadventures and some (oddly familiar) strangers searching for someone called Subaru.
Or in which Lilith Clawthrone is the reincarnation of Natsuki Subaru and no one is particularly happy about that fact.
