Miya slurped his smoothie, sitting in the shadow of the Kyan’s porch right next to a bowl of fruit. He watched in contemplative silence as Reki tried a few easy tricks, wobbling a bit but never actually falling.
“You know, your legs are getting the workout of their lives”, he noted. “Also, you’ll probably be ready to do some easy runs on S by the time Langa is back.”
“That’s the idea”, replied the other, skating closer and snatching a piece of apple as he went. Miya had to admire his balance, because holy fuck.
“He’s gonna die.”
“What did you say?”
“Nothing."

It's been a year since Prince Langa smiled. The queen offers a reward to anyone who can fix that. Reki would give it a try, but he's pretty sure being the one who broke the prince's heart disqualifies him.
“You’ve been quiet. Are you jealous?”
Reki lurches up. “Jealous of what?”
Miya’s brow angles impossibly higher. “Of all the attention the prince is getting?”
Right, of course. That’s what anyone would be jealous over. “I just don’t believe it. Prince Langa isn’t…” he waves one hand, frowning, “...like that.”
“Ha,” Miya crows. “Like you’d know.”
But he does. And Reki thinks: I could do it. I could make him smile. I’ve done it before.

“Is this Nanjo Kojiro?” an unfamiliar voice asks, calm and soothing. He narrows his eyes.
“…Yes?” he responds hesitantly, untying his apron. He hangs it on a hook next to the back door and heads back to the sink to wash his hands, the phone lodged between his ear and shoulder. “Sorry, what are you—”
“I’m the receptionist at Okinawa General Hospital,” the woman replies. “Your number was listed as an emergency contact for…Sakurayashiki Kaoru?”
Kojiro has almost forgotten about Kaoru by the time he gets a call from the hospital.

Summary
Miya raises an eyebrow, but he isn't stupid enough to mention it. "I don't need my classmates seeing me with a bunch of slimes like you!"
"Isn't everyone a slime to you?" Langa asks, infuriatingly earnest.
"Yeah!" Reki agrees. "Anyways, I thought I was a golem now!" Miya kicks him in the shin. It isn't even that hard- not hard enough to bruise, at least, but Reki clutches his leg and hops on one foot all the same.

“What are you two up to? Snowboarding videos again?”
Cici looked expectantly at Langa’s phone, but Langa had already turned the video off and put it in his back pocket. After it buzzed again though he took it out, silencing it with another quiet, wistful sigh. Langa stared down at the darkened screen, his small sad frown reflected back at him.
“What’s with that sigh?” Cici teased, a wide grin on her face. “You texting a cute girl?”
“No.”
“Cute guy then?” Cici pressed.
But to Henry's surprise, Langa actually grinned a bit, his eyes turning a little soft as he stared at his phone. “Yeah. My boyfriend.”
Henry’s eyes widened. Langa… has a boyfriend?
Or the one where Langa returns to Canada after a whirlwind summer in Okinawa. He came back with a new hobby and, even more surprising, a boyfriend. Which his friends aren't quite sure is real or not.

Summary
Reki knows his soulmate's name is Langa, but also knows it's very unlikely that snowboarding star Langa Hasegawa is his soulmate. Still, he keeps up on news about the guy and when he learns that Langa's father was killed in an accident, he starts sending him letters. Drawings, really, that he can't admit to himself are love letters. He just hopes they brighten Langa's day, if he's receiving them at all.
Everything gets turned upside-down, however, when that same Langa Hasegawa suddenly transfers to Reki's school. It'll make giving him the anonymous love letters a bit easier, though...
