There was a group of eleven humans, making a dash for the settlement, screaming their lungs out. And up on the rooftop, visible in the glinting sun, was an actual fucking assassin aiming their rifle right at that group.
Now, before I get too angry with myself, I will admit — there was a part of me that knew getting involved was a bad idea, and that this wouldn’t turn out well for me, and that I was going to get caught up in something I didn’t like that would delay me getting back to Mensah even more, etc. But the thing is that it is really hard to ignore humans when they’re screaming like that and getting shot at and also might die in front of you.
So I got involved.

SecUnit, currently on its way to rescue Dr. Mensah, finds a weird space cube, experiences teleportation for the first time, and gets involved in an assassination attempt. Because for some reason, it can’t seem to stop rescuing random humans.
The Winter Soldier, on mission, is interrupted in his assassination by a very strange anomaly. And as it turns out, anomalies during missions make for terrible times indeed.

Grace was a chemistry guy: his world was provable and predictable. Every quantum physicist that Grace knew had a wild-eyed, pulling-my-hair-out kind of energy, so it felt like a very bad sign that the most grounded explanation for Simon's presence here might be "wormholes."
Grace knocked his glasses off his nose to scrub his eyes, leaving them dangling from one ear. Talking to Simon had given him more questions than answers. What else could he observe about the man? What were the objective facts?

Summary
The beginning is loosely inspired by that time my 3rd degree black belt high school teacher broke up a fight during lunch.
Grace may not have military training, or any sort of experience in hand to hand combat. But muscle memory kicks in when he’s forced to intervene during one of Simon’s more violent episodes and the convict threatens to hurt Rocky.
FIC IS NOW ILLUSTRATED ~ I’ll be adding more as I go.

Simon paused his kisses. “How did you see this going?”
“I don’t know. We would… talk about it?”
“Do you want to talk instead?”
Grace couldn’t even remember what he wanted to say. Actually, there were no words that described what he wanted. “No. No, keep going.”

Or Eridians find Simon's submarine while spreading Astrophage to the galaxy and bring him back to Erid. Grace has to change his normal routine to help this new human adjust to life. Slowly, they get to know one another, despite Simon potentially being a war criminal from a moon with an ocean full of blood. But there's just something else about Simon that Grace can't shake, and he's pretty sure Simon feels it too... -

Summary
I had hesitated so much in even considering bringing this up to SecUnit. I had run endless simulations of this interaction, cataloguing every minute detail of how I could redirect the flow of the conversation to preserve my dignity despite the inherent humiliation of what I would be asking for. Still, I find myself woefully unprepared for how SecUnit actually reacts. It always finds ways to surprise me and evade my predictions.
“You’re saying that being small and weak and helpless is going to make you feel better?”
Well, it sounds stupid when it puts it like that.

Summary
That is to say, in the pursuit of knowledge, scientists can do some really fudging dumb things.
The scientist in question? Doctor Captain Ryland Grace. The research design? Experimental. The line of inquiry? Whether the multibillion-dollar extensive healthcare system—a glorified nanny bot, really—aboard a spaceship hurtling into deep space could serve as a substitute for human touch. That is to say, a substitute for human touch in the interest of touch starvation… as a, uh, secondary objective. Because the primary objective involves… er… usecaseinsexualendeavors.
Ergo: Grace wants to turn Armando into a fuck machine.
Or: Grace and Rocky struggle with intimacy due to biological constraints. So, they decide to use Armando as a way to bridge the gap. However, when it comes to these two, things don't always go according to plan.
